1) The brainchild of Channel 4’s Dawn and Rocco Barker (A Place in Spain: Dawn and Rocco).

The History (theeeeeee, def.art hisstawr, n.pl)

In September 2004, Dawn and Rocco visited their favorite city in the world: Barcelona, Spain! Not ones for exploring your regular run of the mill tourist attractions, Dawn and Rocco decided to spend a day venturing out of the city and into the mountains so as to explore the local region. As they passed through numerous quaint villages, they noticed (as we all do!) various estate offices and decided to the ‘take a peek’ at the properties on offer. After being rejected and ignored by numerous estate agents due to communication and language difficulties, Dawn and Rocco stumbled across a gentleman named Albert Figuerola – the man who unknowingly was about to lead them to their dream gaff in the mountains. After hours of broken English/Spanish conversations in which they described their ideal location/property (mountainous, quaint, small community, very Spanish/Catalan, non-tourist, detached, 1970’s build, amazing views, lots of space…the list continues…), Albert spoke the words Dawn and Rocco were waiting to hear: “I think I ‘ave some thing may you like” A 20 minute journey up narrow and winding passages to the top of the mountain led them to a house now known as ‘Casa Jet Set’.

The first and only house ever to be viewed by Dawn And Rocco. The international property buying process was begun. Despite various hiccups along the way, the house was eventually theirs.

Alas, how idyllic would it be to waste away the days chilling and thrilling in your own custom designed Spanish gaff? Maybe one day, but for now business beckoned and after discovering a niche in the villa market for a real Spanish/Catalonian, non-tourist, full service bells and whistles luxury villa, the entrepreneur in Dawn and Rocco emerged so as to allow others the opportunity to experience this very unique and very special little corner of the planet.

Casa jet Set is currently being transformed into a ‘luxury retro retreat’ and will be available for rental from July 2006 (hopefully!)
